Although Internet television has brought a great deal of choice to thousands of people who would otherwise not be able to receive these channels, it has also brought with it some problems. There have been more than a few attempts to sell people software which claims to be able to get you extra channels on your web TV system. If they are promising to get you premium paid for content for free, then they are simply being dishonest. These broadcasts are encrypted, and there is no way to view them for free. Even if there was, it would be illegal to do so.

If you are being sold software on the basis of accessing free to air content, then all that software will do is generate the URL for each station, which you could have found yourself. There are directories of every channel which can be received as web TV, so the software is completely unnecessary. It is sold purely to extract money from inexperienced people who think they need something such as that to receive Internet television, when the reality is that it can be received with just your Internet browser.
